10. Roses -Outkast
Outkast is quite possibly the most innovative hip-hop duo in the industry. Most of their songs are an exemplary balance of insane lyrics and funky beats, and "Roses" is no exception.
9. Morning Song - Jim Stark
These guys are hard to get here, so to hear them, along with other kick-ass Norwegian artists, listen to the Shamus and Becca Show, Thursdays at 8p.m.
8. Stan - Eminem
Eminem never fails to touch your soul at storytime. Straying away from his usual controversial lyrics, he tells the story of a crazed fan, with Dido singing the chous over the ominous beat; Stan is possibly one of Slim Shady's best works.
7. Black Horse and a Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall
KT Tunstall is quickly becoming an iTunes sensation with her soulful voice and genuine musical talent. Some of her songs have even been featured on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Don't be the last to hear her U.S. debut that dropped in the States this February.
6. Imaginary Places - Busdriver
An underground rapper from L.A., Busdriver is known for two things: rapping fast and rapping very fast. This song shows that hip-hop can be more than simple words over an even simplet beat.
5. Helena - Nickel Creek
With the help of heavy rock producers like Eric Valentine, tracks such as "Helena" momentarily take Nickel Creek apart from the sweet progressive bluegrass musicians they're known as, and lets them be surprisingly edgy while still keeping their eclectic sound.
4. Rap Game - D12 ft. 50 cent
This song is on the Top ten because of the numerous artists appearing on this track, from Eminem to Bizarre.
3. A Million Ways to Go - OK GO
If just listening to this song doesn't make you want to dance, or at least tap your toes a little, head to the band's website OkGo.net and find the video for this song to see the band dance to it themselves - quite humurous.
2. Get Em High - Kanye West ft. Talib Kweli and Common
People either love or hate Kanye West. Personally, I love his songs, but his views on certain things can be skewed. But "Get Em High" is, in my opinion, one of the best examples of collabortion in rap music.
1. Save Me - Jem
This is a smooth and sexy track with sassy lyrics and a contagious guitar background. This song has found a place on many of my iPod playlists.
