Kim Tallent fired a no-hitter and struck out 18 in the second half of a doubleheader Wednesday to beat Rust College 11-0 and move the Warriors' current winning streak to four and 18-7 on the season; having gone 9-5 in the past two weeks. The win puts them at second in the SCAC West Division behind Trinity, who is undefeated in the conference.

Overall, the day was an offensive explosion for the Warriors, who took the first game even more easily by the score of 17-2. In total, they had an astounding 37 hits in the two games, led by McKinzie Fruchtl with six, while Cara Tallent, Cacey Smith, and Kristen Juarez each recorded five.

Before the Rust doubleheader, the team traveled to Jackson, Mississippi last weekend to play two doubleheaders against Millsaps College. They split the overall weekend series with the Majors, with Millsaps taking the first two by scores of 2-1 and 8-1 and Hendrix taking the next two by 3-2 and 3-0 scores.

On the first day, Juarez accounted for all of Hendrix's offense in the first game with a solo home run, and Cacey Smith had an RBI single in the second game, as the Majors' pitchers effectively stifled the usually potent Warrior offense.

While the Warriors didn't manage much offense the day after, it was enough to get by, as strong pitching held Millsaps to a combined two runs, including a shutout in the second game. Kaylea Cecka and Lauren Seaborn recorded the wins, respectively, for Hendrix. Kim Tallent recorded the save in the first game.

Hendrix also lost a tough doubleheader to the University of the Ozarks on March 22, in which the team blew a 4-1 lead in the first game, losing 5-4 and 9-3. The game was nevertheless highlighted by both Tallent sisters recording home runs.

The weekend before in Memphis featured better results for the Warriors, though. They opened on Saturday by sweeping the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff by scores of 4-1 and 9-1. Seaborn and Kim Tallent recorded wins, while Kim also had four hits on the day.

In its first SCAC action of the season (but not divisional), they lost 5-0 to DePauw, before defeating Centre 8-4 and Sewanee 9-2.

Hendrix is next in action tomorrow when it hosts Central Baptist in a doubleheader.
