My Favorite Lawyer Jokes
1/18/11 9:06 PM
I spent my entire break (like several of my fellow seniors) waiting and hoping to hear back from law schools. Needless to say, it was a good prerequisite to the mental beatdown I will be receiving next year in law school. So to ease the pain I thought I would share my top five favorite lawyer jokes. 1.) How do you know it's really cold outside? Lawyers have their hands in their own pockets. 2.) What do lawyers and sperm have in common. One in 50,000,000 has a chance of becoming a human being. 3.) Why won't sharks attack lawyers? Professional courtesy. 4.) How can you tell if a lawyer is well hung? You can't get a finger between the rope and his neck. 5.) A defendant in a lawsuit involving large sums of money was talking to his...Put Some Clothes On People!

I have always felt that I can handle the cold pretty well, but the first cold day of the year hit me like a solid slap to the face. As I walked over the pedestrian bridge from the Village, I couldn't help but think how super it would be to have some sort of windbreak on the bridge. And even though the tunnel under Harkrider is well out of my way, I seriously contemplated whether it was worth waking up a few minutes earlier to avoid being blasted on the bridge. For now, laziness has won out, but that could change very soon. Hustling to class, I couldn't help but notice that there were quite a few people walking around in shorts. Shorts! I had to stop and look self-consciously around to make sure that I wasn't alone in thinking it was extremely cold...Nerds Unite!

So I saw the newest Harry Potter film at the midnight screening, and while the movie was good (definitely ready for the second part), the part I got really excited about was the new trailer for Tron: Legacy. The combination of Olivia Wilde, crazy lights, and (young and old) Jeff Bridges made me distracted throughout the entire Harry Potter movie. Check out the trailer on YouTube if you haven't already. Probably the coolest part of the new movie is that Daft Punk has scored the entire movie. I really can't think of anyone better to make the soundtrack to the sequel of the most futuristic movie ever made. And by the way, if you haven't got Kanye's new album, get it now. It's just about as good and crazy as you would expect it to be. I though Pitchfork...The Never-Ending Saga of Girl Talk

I feel like the relationship of most Hendrix students to Girl Talk could be listed on Facebook as "It's Complicated." Seniors got the full experience when Girl Talk a.k.a. Gregg Gillis played an awesome show at the Shirttails concert in 2007. But of course, Formalgate left a bad taste in most people's mouth, and the following Shamroast concert got cut short. To be fair, that wasn't Girl Talk's fault and what we actually heard was pretty awesome. All of the back and forth can maybe be forgiven now, because Girl Talk has just released a new album. And the best part is that the entire album is free. Go here to download it. You can get it as one single file or separated into individual tracks. And while you're at it, check...My Man-Crush on Kanye Continues

It makes sense that Kanye West would make a film now that I think about it. He has been trying to make himself a legit artist for some time now, and it seems like becoming a director is the logical way to go. And while it would be easy to knock it as another money-making scheme some rapper has cooked up (sound familiar 50 Cent and P. Diddy?), Runaway is actually a compelling music video. In fact, it would be hard to say that anything Kanye has done lately is about money—I don’t think that releasing Runaway or his G.O.O.D. Fridays music series for free on the internet is exactly raking the money in for him. Even his stint as a shoe designer probably didn’t net him that much...
